Good Shepherd Communities, a regional leader in Senior Living, is happy to announce the hiring of Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mary Wassel LMSW, LNHA.

Ms. Wassel has been active in the healthcare field for over 25 years, focusing on long-term care services. She received her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Gerontology from SUNY Cortland and was an integral planner in the first Upstate New York Student Symposium on Aging in coordination with SUNY Stony Brook. Mary received her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration certificate in Gerontology from Syracuse University. She has worked in a broad spectrum of aging services, from Retirement Living, Adult Day Care, Home Care, Assisted Living, Hospice Skilled Nursing, Short-Term Rehabilitation Services, and consulting with LeadingAge NY in proprietary and
not-for-profit arenas. Mary has recently been with Loretto’s Nottingham Community for four years. She served as Administrator/Case Manager for the new Borer Memory Life Community, specializing in the care of Alzheimer’s and Dementia residents.
