ROME, NY – April 7, 2025: April is National Credit Union Youth Month, and AmeriCU is ready to celebrate its youngest members in a big way. From April 1 through April 30, AmeriCU is encouraging kids and teens to build strong financial habits that will last a lifetime.
This year, AmeriCU’s Youth Month celebrations are all about helping kids dream big, build healthy financial habits, and feel supported by their credit union and community.
Here are 5 ways AmeriCU Credit Union is celebrating Youth Month this April:
- Free AmeriCU Mason Jars – Available All Month!
Help your child start their savings journey. Throughout April, youth members can stop by their nearest AmeriCU Financial Center to receive a free Mason jar. This is a fun and simple way to encourage saving money at home, and is an initiative inspired by Mason, one of our youngest members, who saved his money and generously donated to charity over the holidays.
- Win a One-Year Children’s Museum Membership
All month long, youth members will be entered to win a one-year membership to a children’s museum in their area if they make one deposit into an AmeriCU’s Youth Savings Account anytime during the month of April.
AmeriCU will also be donating $1,000 to each of the 3 regional children’s museums in honor of the youth members who save their change with the goal of contributing to a charity of their choice, just like Mason.
- Calling All Military Kids – Come for Treats and Freebies
On April 15, AmeriCU is celebrating Purple Up! Day to honor the month of the military child. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids to their nearest AmeriCU Financial Centers to enjoy juice, sweet treats, balloons, and fun giveaways.
- Essential Supplies for Students in Need in the Syracuse City School District
Starting April 21, AmeriCU is teaming up with Rise Above Poverty to support students in the Syracuse City School District, where nearly 1 in 10 kids experience homelessness.
Through drives at the Syracuse-area financial centers, AmeriCU will be collecting essentials like toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, and more. These items will be distributed by Rise Above Poverty and made available to students in need.
- Walk for a Child with Autism – Join us in Supporting Local Families
To close out Youth Month, AmeriCU is proud to support the Kelberman Center Walk for Autism, an event that benefits children and families living with autism right here in our community. AmeriCU teammates will walk in their honor on Saturday, May 3, at SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
“Youth Month is a great time to shine a light on the small things AmeriCU does to make a big difference for kids and their families.” Said Ron Belle, AmeriCU’s President and CEO.
We invite all young members and their families to join us in these engaging activities throughout April, to learn more visit
