Activations
& “Pop Ups”

The Placemaking Office is focused on partnering with groups and individuals to create more opportunities for unique activations and “pop up” shops. The focus will remain on utilizing public spaces and ensuring that all “pop ups” are accessible, affordable, interactive, and comfortable for all ages and demographics.

Population Retention
& Attraction

The office is also focused on long-term population retention and attraction through EXPERIENCE BING programs and tours. By partnering with other local organizations, we strive to help make Binghamton a desirable place to live in and move to.

Outreach
& Partnerships

Community engagement is integral to the efforts of the Placemaking Office. We strive to meet and interact with individuals from our community to garner a sense of pride and place. That includes community members from schools, colleges, and other organizations.
