CEO Naima Kradjian Named as One of the Cultural Leaders in Arts and Culture Power 100 for 2024
November 13, 2024
On October 1st, our Goodwill Theatre Inc’s CEO Naima Kradjian was nominated by Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo and was honored in the City and State New York Magazine as a part of the Inaugural Arts and Culture Power 100. To receive such an honor, the person and organization was not based on the number of sellout shows or caliber of collections and exhibits but more on the interaction between local and state government, policy advocates and civic and community engagement. The Arts and Culture Power 100 represents New York’s diversity and leaders that celebrate the history and embrace the culture of different communities like we strive to do here at The Goodwill Theatre. Donna Lupardo spoke regarding the award “Congratulations to Naima Kradjian for her well-deserved recognition as part of City & State’s 2024 Arts & Culture Power 100. I nominated her because she is a
powerhouse in our community, devoting the past 25 years to building up our local arts scene. I am especially grateful for her commitment to the restoration and redevelopment of the historic Goodwill Theatre and Firehouse Stage. Naima’s passion for and dedication to the betterment of our community through the arts is inspiring.” Especially for her efforts in re-establishing the historic Goodwill Theatre along with raising funds for their rehabilitation. The Goodwill Theatre’s mission is to enrich our community by providing access to professional quality performing arts, entertainment, and events in a multi-stage complex. Naima spoke about how honored she is to receive this award yet she emphasized it could not have been accomplished without the help of the staff that works tirelessly to help put on shows and events along with the board of directors that supports this organization and the staff to the fullest extent in order to allow the Goodwill Theatre to flower and prosper in all Its glory. “It was quite an honor to attend the reception with so many other cultural leaders. I am pleased that the state recognized how the arts can play in revitalizing rural communities as well as in New York City. Saving our legacy buildings while embracing cultural opportunities is vital to the wellbeing of our communities…We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing steadfast support that Assemblywoman Lupardo has shown for this project well as the support we received from the late Senator Libous and Senator Webb. This entire project is a fine example what can happen when NY State and public resources come together to revitalize the community.” Kradjian has built The Goodwill Theatre Inc. to be a remarkably diverse and inclusive organization where anyone and everyone is welcome to come together and enjoy live music, comedy shows and anything surrounding the Performing Arts. By fostering an environment that celebrates diverse cultures, backgrounds, and artistic expressions, Kradjian aims to create a space where creativity thrives. The Goodwill Theatre and Schorr Family Firehouse Stage actively seeks to amplify community voices and highlight a wide range of performances that reflect the community’s rich tapestry through comedy shows, jazz nights, and collaborative events.
