UHS earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Core Certification in Spine Surgery, making it the first program in Upstate New York to achieve this distinction. This certification recognizes UHS for meeting high performance standards in spine care. UHS worked with a dedicated team, led by Dr. Simone Betchen, to enhance care through evidence-based treatments, patient satisfaction initiatives and educational programs. The UHS Spine Surgery Program offers both non-operative and surgical spine care supported by advanced technology and a multidisciplinary team of specialists.
