Governor Announces Economic Development in Endicott
Governor Cuomo recently came to Endicott to announce a brand new company that plans to hire 250 people with a potential of growing to 1,000 workers over several years.
Charge C4V a new cutting edge lithium ion battery manufacturer, was originally a research group from Binghamton University, will be housed at the Huron Campus in Endicott. They have patented and refined methods of storing renewable energy and a technique of extending the life of lithium ion batteries.
Last year Shailesh Upreti, President of Charge C4V, won $500,000 after taking second place in the 2016 76West Clean Energy Competition, and wanted to set up shop in the Southern Tier. “Our primary goal has been, from day one, to set up an entire manufacturing ecosystem in New York, basically in this Southern Tier Region,” says Upreti.
This is an amazing announcement for the Southern Tier and Endicott. A brand new technology company coming back to the Village that is known for innovation and technology!
