Chamber Attends Community Discussions
The Chamber attended a few community forum discussions over the past few weeks. These forums were on very different topics, but all focused on ensuring that the public was properly informed on the issues.
- One of the forums was an information session to address the public’s concerns regarding the NG Advantage’s Fenton Operations Center and Trucking Terminal. This forum was very well organized and they limited the sessions to people who were formally invited and live in the town of Fenton. This ensured that the questions about this new facility were properly addressed. They discussed properties of natural gas, safety, environmental, traffic, and noise concerns that the public has expressed.
- The second forum was on the potential repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and it’s replacement the American Health Care Act (AHCA). This forum was informative on how the public has benefited from the ACA, but also how some of the hospitals and medical providers are facing a very difficult funding battle. As the AHCA progresses in the federal government, the Chamber will track this to make sure our members are informed on its potential effects.
