Chamber issues support for Solar project
For a few years, SUNY Broome, Southern Tier Solar Works, and Broome-Tioga Workforce NY formed a collaborative partnership on a contractor course to provide training for solar installations. In an attempt to modernize and expand this program, the Chamber issued its support to Southern Tier Solar Works in their application for funding to the DEC’s “Green Skills Training for Youth in Environmental Justice Areas.”
This program has proven success to show a gateway for many students to help align our workforce with future economic development investments. This internship program shows a very unique way that organizations can come together to prepare students for success as soon as they graduate, while also ensuring our workforce is staying contemporary with the changing demands.
